The Festival of the Tomato is an annual event hosted by Covert Farms. The festival features food, wine, live entertainment, hayrides, games and, of course, tomatoes!

While the festival is primarily tomato-centric, a handful of Okanagan-based wineries have participated each year. This year Burrowing Owl, Desert Hills, Hester Creek, Inniskillin, Nk'mip, Red Rooster, Silver Sage and Tinhorn will be in attendance eager to have you sample their offerings.

Also in attendance will be four micro breweries. They include the Barley Mill, the Cannery, Ridge Brewing and the Tin Whistle.

One of the main attractions is the Iron Tomato Chef Competition. Last years winners were Marcus Kharboutli of Mahdina's of Lake Breeze Vineyard in Naramata and Mary Theodosakis & Sophie Dikeakos of Theos in Penticton. They will be back this year to defend their titles again a new round of challengers.

Bring your kids, your parents, your palate, your sunscreen, your lawn chair and especially a change of clothes!
