Established in 1999, Thornhaven Estates' southwestern Santa Fe style reflects the natural landscape of the Okanagan and its semiarid climate. Perfectly designed for wine making, the winery's unique structure allows gravity to transport the fruit and juice from the crush pad to the cellar, eliminating the effects of pumping. Both stainless-steel tanks and French oak barrels are used to create distinctive handcrafted red and white wines. Every aspect of the wine creation is overseen by the cellar master, from the art of growing right through to the final stages of the finished product. Great care is taken at Thornhaven to ensure only the finest award-winning wines are crafted. Thornhaven's wines are produced from three diverse vineyards located around Giant's Head Mountain. Together, its 18.3 acres include plantings of many different varietals. The wine shop aoffers unique gift ideas and wine accessories, many supplied by local artisans. The courtyard patio provides a stunning setting for sipping wine in a relaxed atmosphere. The winery offers cheeses, antipasto, bruschetta and fresh baguettes for purchase, and encourages visitors to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with their wine. |

We visited your winery in Sept/08, and it was very nice. We really enjoyed the tastings.

Last night my wife and I just opened a 2006 Merlot that we picked up during a wine tour earlier this year. It's an excellent wine, and it's enhanced by our memories of the beautiful view at Thornhaven Estates. The location is cut right out of a postcard, with rolling hills, and overlooking the vines, orchards, and the lake. The staff were great, the patio is relaxing, and we've really enjoyed the wine we brought home.

My wife and I have been to Thornhaven Estates on a couple of occasions. We try to visit a different winery every weekend in the Okanagan. So far Thornhaven Estates is one of our favorites. Above the fine wines, what really appreciate is way we feel welcome by the hosts. They are very informative and make sure you have opportunity to try all of their products. The winery's location is excellent and their patio is a great place to spend some time enjoying wine by the glass.
The drive to the winery is enjoyable and really worth the trip. Thornhaven is surrounded by other wineries nearby and they are also available for tastings.
