Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery is one of British Columbia's newer estate wineries, producing award-winning red wines, white wines, dessert wines and icewine. With a 20,000-square-foot facility for processing, fermentation and bottling, Mt. Boucherie Estate is poised at the forefront of the Okanagan wine industry. A longtime dream of owner and president Nirmal Gidda and his family, the winery uses 100-percent estate-grown grapes from the holdings of their vineyard, BC's largest family-owned and operated. The Gidda family has grown wine grapes in the Okanagan since 1968. Vineyard sites now include 80 acres near Cawston in the Similkameen Valley, 40 acres in Okanagan Falls and 55 acres in the Westbank area. Kaldep "Kal" Gidda manages the Cawston and Okanagan Falls vineyards, and Nirmal and Sarwan Gidda manage the Westbank locations. This hands-on attention to viticulture by the the three brothers will play a major role in final wine quality. Their winemaker is Jim Faulkner.

Do not hesitate to pick up a bottle of their Merlot. This delicious wine is excellent and stunning when paired with lamb. You have won me over.

We always stop at Mt. Boucherie winery as it has the nicest staff and for your money the best wines in BC. The Merlot and Gewürztraminer are fantastic and priced incredibly fair. Do yourself a favour and stop on by.

Small wine store with a newly opened picnic area. From the vineyard you have a beautiful view of Mt. Boucherie. This Kelowna area (Westbank) winery is one we return to every time we are in the area. The staff is usually family and are very helpful and willing to share their love of wine. Their medium bodied Gamay Noir, our favourite, has a lovely aroma and flavour of cherries and plum with a smooth peppery finish. Other great reds are their Zweilgelt, Blaufrankisch and Pinot Noir. For whites, we bought the Estate Collection Pinot Gris, which we plan to cellar. Also both the Semillon Estate, to cellar, and the Semillon Reserve to enjoy now. The Summit Reserve Ehrenfelser has a floral aroma with a lovely fruity taste. Another favourite is the Estate Collection Gewürztraminer.

We stopped at Mt-Boucherie because it was on the way to another winery but we truly enjoyed the wines once we tasted them. I had seen the bottles in the store but had never tried their products before that day. We found great wine and a helpful staff. I learned afterwards that it is impossible to find some of the wines in the BC Liquor Stores. You must purchase them at the winery or at a VQA store. This fact has led me to learn about a VQA store in my town and I purchased more Mt-Boucherie wines when I went there for the first time.
