High up on the hillside of the Naramata Bench sits Lang Vineyards. Regarded as the first 'Farm gate Winery', Lang Vineyards opened their door in 1990 and has grown from its humble beginning into one of the Okanagan's foremost boutique wineries. The wines are unique and individual specialties, hand crafted from the ground up. No mass production here. While most of the wines are produced in stainless steel tanks, the winery has embarked on a plan to produce small lots of specialty wines aged in oak. These specialty wines, having experienced the soft touch of oak can be found under our 'Soaring Eagle' brand name. The Marechal Foch is the only remaining hybrid grown in the vineyard on over 40 year old vines, and is made into a soft red wine that is extremely popular among Lang clientele. Other red varieties include Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. New last summer was the Grand Pinot, a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. White varieties include award winning Pinot Auxerrois, Gewurztraminer, Rieslings, Pinot Gris, Grand Pinot (a blend of Auxerrois, Gris, and Blanc), and Viognier. Lang is also a large producer of dessert wines, most notably the 2000 Merlot Icewine th

We had the chance to try the 2005 Riesling and it was one of the best tasting wines we have ever had. We are coming back in about three weeks I hope there is still some in stock.

I have always found the wines of Lang Vineyards to be good to great. We discovered this estate winery back in 1991 with Guenther Lang selling wine from his garage on "the bench". My favorite has always been the Marechal Foch and I look forward to tasting every year. The wife likes the Gewurztraminer and Rieslings.

I was introduced to the Lang Winery product recently, and am very impressed with the 2007 Marechal Foch, a very smooth red. I will put this winery tour on my list next time over to Naramata area.

My husband and I found Lang Vineyards several years ago and visited again this year. The lady was just as polite and informative, and friendly as when we first visited. We love the Reisling Late Harvest, and the Signature Series Optima, and my husband loves the Maple wine. She learned that my husband loves ports and was nice enough to tell us about Stonehill winery. A very pleasant and enjoyable experience. We will make sure we tell everyone about Lang Estate Winery and Stonehill Winery.

My wife and I found Lang Vineyards as we where wandering around the Naramata area. That was four years ago and now every year we go back, it's a must stop for us. We always leave with several bottles of their late harvest and ice wines. They have the best of those type of wines that we have found in the valley.
