Located in the outskirts of Kelowna, nestled among apple orchards with a view of the mountains in all directions, House of Rose Winery is owned and operated by the Rose family. Their philosophy is to produce award-winning wines at affordable prices. They strive for excellence in their vineyards and wine making. Come experience the best tours in the valley and taste some fantastic wines. The winery is renowned for its Winter Wine, a secret blend of Ice Wine with grapes picked late in the fall. Try the Gold Medal winning Foch, their fruity Reisling, or the delectable Summer White, originally produced in 2003 to celebrate their 10th Anniversary and held over by popular demand. All their fine wines are produced on site and aged a minimum of two years. Their fine wines are available at select wine and beer stores throughout BC and Alberta.

I found the wines to not be so fresh, the service lady in the shop was not too good and could not answer about the awards they claim to have won that we seen on the news. Even though it has a beautiful setting, the wines were better last year that were made by the female winemaker. The color of the shop is horrible. We miss the old fella; he and his female winemaker made the visit worth the while. I would not recommend the time out to travel to this winery since under new ownership. It has lost its personality. This winery is in a class way too low for the other wines produced in the Okanagan.

This out of the way winery is located in the apple orchards and has a good view. The operation is small so you get to meet the people that make it happen. Overall the owner was friendly and provided personable answers to questions. We skipped the tasting, but in hindsight we shouldn't have. The wines we purchased (Riesling & Semillon) were not as fresh and crisp as we had hoped. They were both older vintages so perhaps they had seen their better days in the past. I had heard good things in the past so get the tasting and go from there.
