Twelve years ago, Lawrence decided to turn his love for wine into a profession. He went to Fresno State University and received his degree in oenology and minor in viticulture. After 8 years of experience of winemaking in California, Lawrence and his wife Sharon moved to B.C. and began searching for the land for their winery. It was there that Lawrence came to the Similkameen Valley and found the ideal setting for their winery. Herder Winery & Vineyards has distinguished itself as a high-quality wine producer through the efforts of its management to secure contracts for small quantities of premium grapes from a variety of growers in the Similkameen Valley and Okanagan Valley appellations. Their focus is on the production of limited-quantity vineyard designate wines that will provide recognition for local growers. The winery conducts crush, processing and bottling on site.
