Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery is located in the sunny Okanagan Valley wine region of British Columbia, Canada. Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery has a strong commitment to organic viticulture and winemaking. Our own vineards are managed organically, and all of our cellar practises are to organic winemaking standards, dedicated to producing highest possible quality, naturally dry, fully fermented wines.
Hainle Winery holds a special place in the wine history of Canada. Not only is it an award-winning organic winery but it is also the birthplace of Icewine in North America.
In 1972, the owner of the winery, Walter Hainle, had developed a reputation and secured a special place in the wine history books of Canada. By a stroke of genius he turned a disaster into a lucrative miracle. Rather than allow an early frost to obliterate an entire year of grape production. Hainle had recalled his own Germanic tradition of turning frozen grapes into delicious dessert wines.
Despite the icy cold harvesting conditions, he carefully collected the frozen grapes that yielded the sweet nectar essential to the production of Peachland’s first 40 litres of Icewine. Of course Hainle had no plans t |

I visited Hainle Winery just after new year’s. The winery was closed as so many of the wineries are during the winter month. However I ran into the owner of the winery on my way back to the car. He was just bottling his new wines and very helpful. He stopped work and gave me a tour of his winery. Not only did he go out of his way to explain how his winery makes their new Estate wines, he also let me taste some of the new estate wines he just bottled. I got to try his 2006 G2 Gewuertzaminer Riesling, outstanding by the way, followed by the 2006 Sauvignon Blank and then the 2005 and 2006 Zweigelt. Last but not least I tried his pride the 2004 2005 2006 Pinot Noir. I have to say, I tried many Okanagan wines before, but none of them comes close to the quality and fantastic taste these naturally produced wines have. Yes the price for them is higher than most other wines of the Okanagan but on the other hand you really can't compare them at all. Yet compared to other high end wines of other countries the Deep Creek-Hainle wines are still a bargain. I have many $100 plus wines in my wine cellar from all over the world; however this will change now since I found this winery. Hainle is producing much better wines than the ones I have in my assortment from France and Napa Valley and for half the price. The nicest thing about it is they are free of chemicals and made in Canada. I have to say both thumbs up for you folks at Hainle. I do agree with the owner that the new Deep Creek Estate wines are some of the best this world has to offer. Try them out next time you are near the winery or just simply get on the waiting list to join their new wine club starting this summer. Check out the website deepcreekwineestate.com or hainle.com. Both URLs will get you to their wine page. Unfortunately the new wines are not on the list yet but the owner promised me that they will be online soon. My rating for this great boutique winery and the personal service I received is definitely 10 out of 10.

It all started with a refreshing glass of red wine after a hard day canoing the Columbia River in Golden, BC. With hearing great reviews, I purchased a bottle of organic wine, and to my disappointment it had gone bad.
After reading the back of the bottle I was encouraged to call the customer service phone number. After the phone call, I was extremely impressed with Hainle's customer service. They explained what had happened to the wine, and were very sorry for inconvenience. They sent a far more expensive, and older, wine to replace it.
It's little things like this that make a company stand out. In this day and age one bad experience can tarnish the opinion of anybody which in turns gets communicated through the network of friends, family, and passers-by.
Great work Hainle!
I am currently working my way through my second case.

We visited the Hainle Winery during wine festival week in October 2006. It was our first visit to the Okanagan and certainly won't be our last. We stayed in a rented cottage in Peachland, a town we immediately fell in love with. My wife is on a strict diet which reduces sulfites amongst other things from her diet. Our love for wine has made this difficult so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the red wines offered at your winery (no slur intended on the whites, we just aren't white wine drinkers). Our favourite was the full bodied Cabernet Franc, with the earthy tones of the Cabernet Merlot a close second. I don't know whether it was our perception or not but the taste seemed cleaner than what we are use to from other non organic wines. The lady who was providing the tasting was very knowledgeable about the organic process and the wines themselves, helping us identify the subtelties of the samples. We left the winery with 4 bottles of wine and are corresponding on the availability of case lots. It is unfortunate your product is not available in Prince Edward Island as the availability of organic wines is non existent here.
