2008 Lake Breeze Vineyards Seven Poplars Pinot Noir
Highlights

Pinot Noir is a very fickle variety requiring constant attention as well as lots of work during the
growing season. This Pinot Noir is planted on both east and west facing slopes and on sandy as well
as deep silt soils. The whole bag of viticultural tricks is employed to control vigour and crop
level. Tonnage is never allowed to exceed 3 tons per acre and is frequently much lower than that.
The result is fruit that reaches physiological ripeness as well as the desired sugar levels. You
will find predominant aromas of raspberry, black cherry and anise with an earthy background. The
palate is plush with a firm and ripe tannin finish. A well-structured wine designed for food and
great with game dishes. Cellaring this wine for 1 year is recommended, but it will continue to
improve for 5 to 10 years.
