Highlights The 2008 Merlot grapes were handpicked in October from Quails' Gate vineyards. The 2008 season provided ideal growing conditions and the cool October nights helped to preserve the fruit's flavour and acidity. Pre-fermentation, cold soaking and extended post ferment maceration are techniques used to bring out the best of this magnificent vineyard site. This Merlot is aged for 18 months in new 1 year old French oak barrels and will reward careful cellaring up to 7 years.
