An intriguing bouquet of cocoa, black cherry, leather, sweet spice, smoky oak and cedar. A full-bodied, rich wine with velvety yet drying tannins and great mouth-feel. Wonderful concentration of flavours including rich black fruits, such as black cherry, black currant and blackberry, complemented by rich vanilla extract and cocoa. The wine seems to linger endlessly on the finish with notes of spice, cocoa and black fruits. Pairs well with grilled steaks and sautéed mushrooms; pheasant in a rich red wine reduction; marinated leg of lamb, and two to three year old Canadian cheddar.
