A deep black purple colour with a complex bouquet of sweet oak, rich vanilla, sweet Chai spice, black currant, cocoa, plum, and black tea. A full-bodied, rich wine with velvety tannins and great mouth-feel. Plenty of rich black fruits, accented by cloves, allspice, vanilla and a whiff of humidor evolve on the palate. The wine lingers on the finish with notes of black fruits, sweet spice and smoke. Pairs well with grilled steaks and sautéed mushrooms; beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon, rich Portobello mushroom stew, braised meats and two to three year old Canadian cheddar.
