The Blasted Church Chardonnay Musqué grown in the lower block consistently displays fantastic varietal character when being harvested. The Musqué block is inter-planted with their Chardonnay. Therefore, they rely on the Vineyard Manager and pickers to harvest as much Chardonnay Musqué as possible, without harvesting Chardonnay at the same time. The 2010 vintage continued the pattern of picking the Musqué at higher brix. The 2010 Chardonnay Musqué was picked at 24 brix. The development of the berries was slow and constant, which resulted in nice balanced ripening of the fruit.
