Penticton Wineries

Surrounded by sandy beaches and lush lakefront, Penticton is one of just two cities worldwide positioned between two lakes. Bench 1775

Sitting on 30 lakefront acres, Bench 1775 boasts panoramic views and 1000 feet of beach frontage. Bench 1775 wines are made with fruit from its premier Naramata Bench vineyards as well as from other meticulously selected growers in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys. Chosen for their unique microclimate, soil type and sun exposure, each vineyard produces grapes which are fully ripened and then hand-picked allowing for the best flavour and softest tannins.

D'Angelo Estate Winery

Find Italian winemaking traditions at D'Angelo Estate Winery. The family behind this quality Penticton winery have been making wine in Canada since the 1950s and offer a plethora of expertise. Throughout the vineyard, only the finest French viniferas and hybrids are planted. Today, D'Angelo Vineyards has 8 acres of vines on the renowned Naramata Bench and more are being developed.

Hillside Cellars Winery

Originally an apricot orchard, Hillside Cellars Winery became one of the first "farm gate" (policy allowing vineyards smaller than 5 acres to sell their wine directly to the public) wineries in BC. Today, Hillside produces top quality wines destined for many markets recognizing their attention to quality. This is the only BC winery producing Muscat Ottonel, a truly unique and unusual aromatic white wine, which has developed a huge customer following.

La Frenz Winery

Focusing on premium table wines that rival wines from anywhere in the world, La Frenz uses state-of-the-art deficit irrigation and canopy management techniques to provide consistently high-quality fruit. This enables La Frenz to produce powerful, fruit-forward styles that reflect the vineyard terroir. The winery employs the most gentle processing equipment available, traditional small barrel usage, and winemaking techniques that results in wine styles with layering and complexity.

Laughing Stock Vineyards

Super-premium, small-production wines are the focus of Laughing Stock Vineyards. In support of this philosophy, they built a new winemaking facility with a design leveraging the hillside and benefits from limited intervention and handling of the wine in its development. Complexity is added to the wines through an extended barrel-aging program using 100% French oak sourced from select barrel manufacturers based on previous vintages and ongoing oak trials that match up the varietal to the best coopers.

Pentage Winery

Overlooking Skaha Lake, Pentage Winery achieves excellence in its wines through a low-yield cultivation strategy which produces premium, limited release, hand-crafted wines. Annual production is limited to approximately 5,000 cases a year - this enables Pentage to create exceptional small lot releases and maintain a unique hands-on approach for quality control.

Township 7 Vineyards and Winery

Township 7 produces complex, flavourful, handcrafted wines in small lots sourced from the best grapes in the south Okanagan Valley. The family-owned and operated winery is set on the rolling hillsides of the Naramata Bench. Township 7 has received prestigious awards for its Chardonnay, Merlot and Semillon.

Naramata Wineries

Quiet streets and lakefront cottages define the idyllic village of Naramata, which boasts farms and vineyards producing locally grown fare and world-recognized Naramata wineries. The Naramata Bench highlights a strong and evolving wine industry and encompasses the benchlands running from the north-east end of Penticton to Okanagan Mountain Park.
While Naramata wineries are an ever-growing presence in the quaint village, the fruit-growing roots of the area remain allowing visitors to indulge in the local harvest and enjoy the beautiful orchards growing apples, pears, peaches, plums, apricots and cherries. Elephant Island Orchard

Elephant Island Orchard wines are hand-crafted from a variety of fresh fruits grown in the Okanagan Valley. The crafting of Elephant Island's wines follows the same exacting combination of science and art that is applied in the production of fine grape wines, converting the natural sugars of the fruit to alcohol through fermentation. Like grape wines, the natural levels of acidity and sugar levels in each harvest are critical in achieving a balanced and distinctive wine.

Kettle Valley Winery

Kettle Valley Winery is known for its dark, intense and well-structured red wines, including Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and blends such as "Old Main Red." Chardonnay has been the main white wine produced, but in recent years Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc have also proved popular. They are all flavorful and aromatic, with a rich mouth feel. With a small wine shop, groups of eight or more are asked to call ahead and book an appointment.

Lake Breeze Vineyards

Lake Breeze has 17 acres under vine and grows nine different varietals including Pinot Blanc, Semillon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Its annual production is currently 6,000 cases, making it a relatively small winery. However, good things come in small packages - they boast several award-winning wines, a popular patio lunch, a new self-catering cottage and one of the prettiest settings anywhere.

Lang Vineyards

Regarded as the first 'Farm gate Winery,' Lang Vineyards produces most of their wines in stainless steel tanks, however it also produces small lots of specialty wines aged in oak. These specialty wines, can be found under our 'Soaring Eagle' brand name. The Marechal Foch is the only remaining hybrid grown in the vineyard on over 40-year-old vines. Other red varieties include Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. New last summer was the Grand Pinot, a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. White varieties include award winning Pinot Auxerrois, Gewurztraminer, Rieslings, Pinot Gris, Grand Pinot (a blend of Auxerrois, Gris, and Blanc), and Viognier. Lang is also a large producer of dessert wines including Merlot and Riesling Icewine and both red and white Canadian Maple Wines.

Marichel Vineyard

A small winery, Marichel produces limited quantities of fine wine made from grapes grown exclusively on the Naramata Bench.

Nichol Vineyard and Estate Winery

The winery has 5.5 acres which are home to the first plantings of Syrah and St. Laurent in Canada. The estate also produces Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and a Pinot Gris.

Therapy Vineyards

Therapy Vineyards produces powerful, fruit-forward styles that reflect the terroir of the vineyard. The 10-acre vineyard has 10- to 14-year-old vines that have produced bountiful crops and have produced several award-winning wines.

Van Westen Vineyards

Emphasizing sustainable, cool-climate viticultural practices, Van Westen Vineyards grows quality vinifera grapes to make premium wines. Currently the new winery/tasting room is under construction so tastings must be arranged by appointment only by contacting the winery directly through phone or e-mail.
