Le Vieux Pin

About The Winery

Le Vieux Pin's vineyard strategy is an acknowledgment of the Old World with a gust of New World. History has demonstrated that the best wines ultimately come from the best vineyard sites. Fortunately, the Okanagan Valley happens to be one of the best wine regions with its unique climate and variety of latitudes and soils. Le Vieux Pin's focus is to make wine representative of its terroir. Low-input viticulture is the method Le Vieux Pin uses to achieve that aim. Dry farming, minimal fertilizer addition, high-density plantings and extremely low yield will allow vines to show their true nature. Le Vieux Pin employs a blend of organic and bio-dynamic practices called "non-interventionism." Along with its sister winery, Lastella, it boasts 50 acres through the South Okanagan in small parcels ranging from 8.5 acres to 12 acres. The winery also contracts grapes from quality-minded growers who have certified organic vineyards or grow sustainably. Passion, friendship, dedication and commitment have been the recipe for their success.
