St Hubertus & Oak Bay Estate Winery

About The Winery

In 1928, J.W. Hughes planted the first vines on the prestine land now the home of The St Hubertus & Oak Bay Vineyards. Leo Gebert arrived in the Okanagan in 1984 from Switzerland, with his brother Andy joining him two years later. Together, the brothers maintained the vineyards using sustainable farming practices on all 76 acres (50 St Hubertus, 26 Oak Bay). The winery opened in 1991 where the brothers started producing their own wines. Today, the winery produces on average 14,000 cases of wine each year. The winery was burnt down in 2003 during the Okanagan Mountain Park Fire which destroyed more than 200 homes.
