Summerhill Pyramid Winery

About The Winery

Summerhill Pyramid Vineyard is located in South Kelowna overlooking Lake Okanagan and comprises over 65 acres, of which approximately 45 are planted. The organically grown grape varieties include Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Ehrenfelser and Pinot Meunier. They flourish in the northernmost desert viticulture region of the world, such as the Okanagan Valley. Summerhill is a certified organic vineyard, using no herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers in the soil. Remineralized soils are proving to produce more flavorful foods and healthier wherever they are used. The grape clones have been imported from the finest vineyards of Champagne, Bordeaux, the Rheingau and Mosel -- Europe's most celebrated historic vinifera varietals. Grown in the Okanagan, Summerhill is producing wines that rival the best from their mother countries. The Okanagan Valley is a semiarid desert with only 28 cm of rainfall per year, and hardly any humidity in any season. The valley's hot summer days are longer than those in any other wine-growing region due to being so far north. This, combined with cool evening temperatures, allows the production of small grapes with high sugar content and acidity for intensely flavoured wines.

While you're visiting SUmmerhill Pyramid Vineyard, stop in at Tantulus Vineyards, Cedar Creek Estate Winery, and Calona Vinyards in downtown Kelowna.
